Headmaster’s blog 24/11/2023

There is already quite a festive feel to the air at Wetherby Senior, thanks to our PTA’s hard work and creativity in decorating our reception areas at both buildings, and to the Christmas lights up around Marylebone.

As we get nearer to the end of this term, we also have a number of festive events and activities taking place, including charitable giving opportunities which embrace the spirit of Christmas and remind our boys of how fortunate they are. This means that, as in previous years, our pupils, parents, and staff are being asked to donate shoeboxes, containing Christmas gifts, to support West London Mission (WLM). Further information about this worthwhile initiative is here.

In addition, we will be holding a boys’ hamper raffle before the Christmas holidays, so our PTA and Mr Thornton would be grateful for donations of unopened Lego or other toys for older children, vouchers, sports memorabilia, electronics, chocolates etc. These can be left at Reception in Hannah House or Marylebone Lane, and thank you in advance for your support of all these activities.

Finally, as part of our School’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our young people, Ms Pheiffer has asked me to share the updated checklists for Snapchat and Tiktok. This information should help you with monitoring safe usage, by your sons, of these popular online platforms.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
