How to Apply – 16+ entry

Pupils applying to join Year 12 at Wetherby Senior are required to attend our 16+ assessment day in the autumn term of Year 11.

16+ entry in September 2024

Applications for 16+ entry to our Sixth Form in September 2024 closed at 12 noon on Friday 13th October. If you are looking to submit a late application, please contact our Registrar.

Boys applying for 16+ entry would be invited to our 16+ assessment day. Here, boys are interviewed and sit our bespoke entrance exam which will assess English and Mathematics, covered in the National Curriculum up to the end of Year 10, plus verbal and non-verbal reasoning. A familiarisation test is available on our website. Our 16+ assessment day gives candidates a chance to meet current members of our Sixth Form and tour our School.

Fluency in English

To fully access our curriculum and play a full part in the life of Wetherby Senior, prospective pupils must have a good level of written and spoken English, or must demonstrate the aptitude to acquire it quickly. Normally pupils should have been educated in the English medium for at least three years before coming to our School. Tuition in English as an Additional Language (EAL) can be arranged (at additional cost) to support boys that require it.

Equal treatment

Wetherby Senior is fully committed to our legal and moral obligation to treat all applicants equally, regardless of a candidate’s race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or social background.

See for yourself – book our Open Day

Choosing a sixth form is a big decision so, if you would like to visit us in Marylebone, then please book on our Open Day or Visitor Morning by clicking here.

Hear from our sixth formers and staff

At our Open Day, you’ll meet our current sixth formers and staff, so can ask them what life is like in Wetherby Senior’s Sixth Form! We’re very proud of all our Sixth Form has to offer, so here are two alumni from our successful Class of 23 – Matteo and Benjamin – reflecting on their years in Marylebone, and Mr Hayes, our Head of Sixth Form, on our Sixth Form’s dynamic and supportive environment.
