Wetherby Senior is again taking part in West London Mission’s fantastic Christmas shoebox appeal.
As in previous years, Wetherby Senior pupils, parents, and staff are being asked to donate shoeboxes, containing Christmas gifts, to support West London Mission (WLM). This very deserving charity, based just metres from our School, provides social work projects for some of London’s most vulnerable people, helping those affected by a range of social issues (like homelessness, poverty, and trauma) to make positive changes in their lives.
Mr Thornton, Head of Charity at Wetherby Senior, explains: “Shoeboxes from members of Wetherby Senior’s community can be filled with items such as new and sealed men’s toiletries, activities (like puzzle books or Rubik’s cube), socks, gloves, scarves, winter hats, books, and confectionary.
“Each year, Wetherby Senior’s community have donated over 100 shoeboxes and we’re hoping for the same this year, as we know our shoeboxes can make a huge difference to someone’s life over the festive period.”
Pictured, below, are Wetherby Senior pupils with shoebox donations from last December. For further information about this year’s collection, please contact Mr Thornton. Shoeboxes will need to be provided by Thursday 14th December.
