Applications are now open for 16+ entry in 2022, for 11+ entry in 2023, and for 13+ entry in 2025. Our Wetherby Senior application form is at the end of this webpage.
Wetherby Senior is an academically selective school and our usual points of entry are at 11+, 13+ or 16+. Selection is based upon academic merit which is assessed through an entry examination, references from the candidate’s previous school and interview. Our selection process is designed to identify pupils who are able to benefit from our balanced and well-rounded education, and make a positive contribution towards the life of the School.
Applications are now open for 16 + entry to our Sixth Form in September 2022. A registration form can be found at the bottom of this page.
Our 16+ assessment day is held in the autumn term of Year 11. Boys are interviewed and examined in the subjects they wish to study for A Level. All registered parents are informed, by letter, of the key dates for our entry process at the start of our autumn term. We usually offer places to candidates from our waiting list after the closing date for acceptances.
Applications are now open for 11+ entry to Wetherby Senior in September 2023. Our registration deadline is Friday 14th October 2022 at 12.00pm.
Boys applying to Wetherby Senior for 11+ entry are required to take the ISEB Common Pre-Test during the autumn term of Year 6. This is a respected and widely used online test for children moving from primary or prep schools to selective secondary schools. The test assesses the English and Mathematics content covered in the National Curriculum up to the end of Year 5 as well as verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
For candidates who were unable to sit the test in their own school, we can host candidates at Wetherby Senior. Interviews for selected candidates will be held in January 2023.
Applications are now open for 13+ entry to Wetherby Senior in September 2025. Our registration deadline is Friday 14th October 2022 at 12.00pm.
Our 13+ assessments are held in the autumn of Year 6 through the ISEB Common Pre-Test and then interview. Please contact our Registrar (registrar@wetherbysenior.co.uk) for information on our waiting list places.
Places occasionally become available for other year groups. Please contact our Registrar for more information.
In order to fully access our curriculum and play a full part in the life of Wetherby Senior, prospective pupils must have a good level of written and spoken English, or demonstrate the aptitude to acquire it quickly. Normally pupils should have been educated in the English medium for at least three years before coming to our School. @Tuition in English as an Additional Language (EAL) can be arranged (at additional cost) to support boys that require it.
Wetherby Senior is fully committed to our legal and moral obligation to treat all applicants equally, regardless of a candidate’s race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or social background.
