Presentations on diversity

Wetherby Senior pupils have enthusiastically and thoughtfully taken part in our Diversity Committee’s first ever competition.

Before half-term, our School’s Diversity Committee launched a competition asking boys to create presentations on an area of diversity that interested them. Now, after careful consideration of the submissions, the winners have been announced.

Ms Nash, Assistant Head: Head of Lower School, said: “First of all, an honourable mention is given to Alexander WP, in Year 7, for his detailed project on Major Taylor who was an African American professional cyclist.

“In third place, with his presentation on apartheid, is Tameem H, in Year 8. Second place goes to a pupil who created a very informative presentation on Simon Bolivar, an important figure in Latin American history. Well done to Santiago Q, in Year 8.

“And finally, with an engaging project on his Iranian heritage, our winner is Manu K, in Year 9.”

Ms Nash added: “We were really pleased to receive such thoughtful and well-researched entries on a variety of topics, ranging from celebrating Diwali to what it means to be non-binary.

“Thank you to everyone who entered and look out for our Diversity Committee’s next competition coming soon.”
