Headmaster’s blog 10/11/2023

This afternoon, we gathered as a whole school for our annual remembrance assembly. Entirely appropriately, this event is a more sombre occasion than our normal assemblies and this year was no different. The theme running throughout was that of peace, and a boy from each of Lower School, Middle School, and our Sixth Form gave excellent poetry readings for us to reflect on.

Prior to our assembly today, it has been another busy week in Marylebone, with staff and pupils again making the most of our central London location – our Year 11 geographers headed off to Stratford to undertake GCSE coursework, while our sixth formers enjoyed a tour around the Houses of Parliament. In addition, rehearsals for our Upper School Play next month continue , with tickets shortly available on ParentPay, and we held our Year 13 parents’ evening.

Staying with our parents, everyone should have received an email regarding a survey that Inspired Education are running, as they wish to hear more from our parents and pupils about their experience at Wetherby Senior. As outlined in that email, I would be grateful if you could spare some time to complete this survey and I do ask that you complete it honestly so, if you believe a certain aspect of life at Wetherby Senior is great, then say so. Equally, if you are disappointed about something, then please tell us, as constructive criticism is also welcomed. We can do much more with the results of a survey that tells us strongly what you do or do not like about Wetherby Senior.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
