Headmaster’s blog 15/09/2023

Our second week of term saw Year 9 head to Dorset for their residential trip. From the photographs sent back to Marylebone and feedback via Ms Dodson, it seems a brilliant time has been had by all, with boys abseiling, rock climbing and canoeing in the autumn sunshine.

Here in London, clubs and activities got underway and, as you’ll see below, Ms Bradley is inviting boys to submit photographs for the front cover of our next issue of The Barometer. For the benefit of new parents, our pupil-led magazine, The Barometer, is published twice a term and provides an excellent opportunity for our School’s budding writers, photographers, designers, and film and theatre critics. Our boys have great fun writing pieces about the topics that interest them and, I’m delighted to say, it is also a great read – see what I mean by checking out previous issues via our website.

Finally, a quick reminder to Year 11 parents regarding our Sixth Form Information Evening on Wednesday 27th September. You will have been sent an email about this and it is a super way to hear more about our successful Sixth Form and talk to Heads of Department about A Levels. During that afternoon, Year 11 will enjoy A Level taster sessions and meet with their personal university advisor for early discussions about academic life after Wetherby Senior, before dismissal at 5pm. Parents are invited to Hannah House Hall from 5.30pm for drinks and canapes, before boys return at 6pm and our event begins in earnest.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
