Class of 23 – Ali

Year 13, Ali, has offers to read philosophy, politics and economics at Exeter and Southampton, both top Russell Group universities.

“I joined Wetherby Senior in Year 9 from Knightsbridge School, and am now undertaking my A Levels in Economics, Mathematics and Philosophy within our Sixth Form.

“I have really enjoyed life in our Sixth Form – it has been brilliant to study three subjects, that I really enjoy, in much greater depth. I have also appreciated the increased freedom and responsibility that sixth formers are given. For example, we have our common room where we can study between lessons and meet up with our friends.

“Wetherby Senior staff have been incredibly supportive of my university plans. Teachers were always very accessible and provided advice on courses and institutions that I should consider, while Mrs Deedat (our Head of Sixth Form) gave up a lot of time to support me in writing a good personal statement. At Wetherby Senior, you are encouraged to start your university research and applications early, which I think is wise as it means you can easily balance this alongside your A Level studies. Applying to university has been a very straightforward process.

“To anyone thinking of joining Wetherby Senior’s Sixth Form, I would say that you will find it easy to settle in – our Sixth Form is friendly and welcoming, so you’ll quickly feel at home.”
