Last weekend saw one Wetherby Senior pupil further advance his fencing prowess within the challenging European circuit.
Current Year 9, Zehen, took part in the European competition in Croatia, representing England as he fenced within the U14 and U17 age groups. Zehen delighted his coach and his supportive family, putting in a strong performance that saw him defeat some much older Italian fencers. He came an impressive 25th overall in the U14 age group and 42nd overall in the U17 age group.
Zehen’s success this weekend comes after he took part in the U14 European Circuit fencing competition in Poland last month. Following all of this hard work, and his excellent results in Croatia, he will now compete in May, in Bulgaria.
