Wetherby Senior’s Duke of Edinburgh Award participants tested their outdoor skills in the English countryside, with the English weather!
Last week, our Bronze and Silver Practice expeditions saw boys travel to the Chiltern Hills to practice the techniques and skills they will need to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions.
Ms Walters, Assistant Head: Co-curricular at Wetherby Senior, explains: “I’m delighted to say that our practice expeditions went really well, despite some rain! All our boys showed great resilience and dealt with the sometimes soggy circumstances well.
“My personal highlights from the weekend were watching our boys proudly cook dinner in the evening, and seeing our boys slip in the mud during the day!”
Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award remains popular at Wetherby Senior. This well-respected and challenging programme can be completed at three levels – Bronze, Silver or Gold – and provides an excellent opportunity for our young people to enhance their teamwork, organisation and leadership skills.
