On your bike, again!

Wetherby Senior’s pupils and staff are set to race the length of the River Thames once more, for our School’s Sponsored Spin 2023.

Taking place on Wednesday 22nd March, boys from all year groups will make good use of our School’s spin studio, as our Trib teams compete to be first to cycle 346 km (otherwise known as the length of the River Thames) in just 12 hours.

Mr Thornton, Wetherby Senior’s Head of Charity, has been co-ordinating our charitable cycling challenge. He explains: “Last year’s successful fundraiser saw over 100 staff and pupils saddle up, raising over £5,000 for charity. I’m delighted to say that our second Sponsored Spin will take place in two weeks, and we have partnered with West London Mission, meaning all proceeds will help those in need in the local area.

“Each Trib will be competing over 12 hours to gain vital points towards this year’s Thames Trophy. There will also be prizes available to the boys who fundraise the most money and cycle the furthest distance in their slot. To help with this, when donating via our Just Giving page, please leave a comment with the boy’s name you are supporting.”

Pupils can sign up to take part in Wetherby Senior’s Sponsored Spin 2023 by speaking to the Trib Prefect or to Mr Thornton. Donations can be made via Wetherby Senior’s fundraising page.
