Future proofing career success

Wetherby Senior’s Year 12 have been developing their professional skills and understanding, at our School’s fantastic Futures Day.

With support from industry experts, sixth formers took part in a range of activities last Friday, including mock interviews with professionals from a range of fields and talks on topics like public speaking, communication, and key technology trends.

Ms Holmes, Head of Careers, explains: “The mock interviews on our Futures Day helped our sixth formers develop their communication and reflection skills, as well as getting boys used to presenting their academic and co-curricular achievements in a formal manner.

“By helping our young people understand their aptitudes and abilities, and skills and interests, we are working to support their successful transition from school to university and the workplace.”

Mrs Deedat, Head of Sixth Form, added: “We received great feedback from Year 12 on how our Futures Day was both useful and inspiring. Thank you to all the industry experts who helped make this such a great event!”

Wetherby Senior’s Futures Day is part of our School’s extensive careers programme, aimed at preparing young people for future success in the workplace. This event took place after our School’s University Fair, which saw representatives from around 30 different universities (from across the UK, continental Europe, and North America) visit to speak to boys from Years 10-13.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
