Year 13, Edward, is currently applying to read management at a number of top universities, including Exeter, Edinburgh and LSE.
“I joined Wetherby Senior in Year 9 and am now studying for my A Levels in Physics, Mathematics and Economics, as well as Italian, within our Sixth Form.
“Throughout my time at Wetherby Senior, staff have been very encouraging of my university goals. My form tutor, for example, has always been available to provide advice on options around courses and institutions, which has proved invaluable. Then, when I was writing my personal statement, at least two teachers read through my work and provided guidance, while Mrs Deedat (Head of Sixth Form) also offered her expertise, meaning I was very happy with the final document.
“Alongside my A Levels, I am a prefect with responsibility for co-curricular activities at Wetherby Senior. This means that I assist Ms Walters, our Assistant Head: Co-curricular, on the creation and running of different clubs and activities for all boys at our School. This has been a great experience and a fantastic opportunity to build my leadership skills and organisation, while also supporting the wider life at Wetherby Senior.
“To anyone joining Year 12 at Wetherby Senior, I would say that you will make lots of friends, as it is nice community, and you will be able to build a good rapport with your teachers, who can then help with all aspects of your studies and future plans.”
