Walking with dinosaurs

Wetherby Senior’s Year 7 have been discovering dinosaurs, examining the Earth, and marvelling at modern animals at the Natural History Museum.

As part of Friday’s Field Day, our School’s youngest pupils headed to South Kensington, to enjoy a fabulous day at the famous London-based museum.

Ms Johnson, from our School’s Science Department, explained: “Our Year 7 cohort were able to visit all areas of the Natural History Museum, as they completed a number of fun and challenging quizzes. This enabled our boys to learn more about the history of dinosaurs, gemstones, the Earth, and modern animals.

“It was a wonderful way for our boys to extend their knowledge beyond the classroom, while making good use of the fantastic museums and other facilities that we have such easy access to in London.”

The Natural History Museum, one of three major museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, holds life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology, and zoology.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
