Wetherby Senior will once again take part in West London Mission’s Christmas box appeal this December.
As in previous years, Wetherby Senior pupils, parents, and staff are being asked to donate shoeboxes, containing Christmas gifts, to support West London Mission (WLM). This very deserving charity provides social work projects for some of London’s most vulnerable people, helping those affected by a range of social issues (like homelessness, poverty, and trauma) to make positive changes in their lives.
Mr Thornton, Head of Charity at Wetherby Senior, explains: “Shoeboxes from members of Wetherby Senior’s community can be filled with items such as new and sealed men’s toiletries, activities (like puzzle books or Rubik’s cube), socks, gloves, scarves, winter hats, books, and confectionary.
“Last year, Wetherby Senior’s community donated over 100 shoeboxes, which was absolutely fantastic. We’re hoping to surpass that number this year, as we know our shoeboxes can make a huge difference to someone’s life over the festive period.”
Pictured, below, are Wetherby Senior pupils with shoebox donations from last year. For further information about this year’s collection, please contact Mr Thornton. Shoeboxes will need to be provided by Thursday 15th December.
