More MUN marvels

Congratulations to Wetherby Senior’s Model United Nations participants who have enjoyed prize-winning success – once again – at a conference.

Recently, Wetherby Senior boys from Years 11 and 12 headed to the Royal Grammar School, to represent India and Australia at a MUN conference. As well as sitting on a variety of committees, including SPECPOL and the Security Council, our pupils performed extremely well, with success and prizes awarded in recognition of their hard work and achievement.

Ms Smith, Head of Geography at Wetherby Senior, explained: “Well done to Oscar and Dan, who both had their resolutions debated, and passed, in their committees.

“In addition, congratulations must go to Oscar and James for winning the prize for outstanding delegate – a fantastic achievement!”

This good news follows our School’s previous success at MUN conferences. Last June, Wetherby Senior pupils were awarded prizes for their performance at St Paul’s School in London (pictured, below, are Oscar and Dan at that event).

Model UN is an educational simulation in which young people learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the UN, while building valuable skills like research, public speaking, debating, and writing. At a Model UN conference, participants work as the representative of a country, organisation or person to solve a problem with other delegates from around the world.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
