The long and winding read

Wetherby Senior is taking part in a new reading initiative to inspire our Year 7 boys – The Reading Road Map.

Launched last week, The Reading Road Map challenges our youngest boys to stretch themselves beyond what they would normally read, while discovering fabulous new authors and different writing styles.

Mr Munday, Wetherby Senior’s School Librarian, explains: “Each road on The Reading Road Map represents a different genre and includes books marked green, amber and red, depending on difficulty.

“To get each book ticked off, our boys will have to write a review or tell me what they thought of it. Top readers will get to claim certificates (from bronze up to platinum) and there will also be Gold Notes up for grabs!”

For Wetherby Senior’s Year 7, The Reading Road Map contains 35 different books, which were all released in the last year. Genres range from adventure to fantasy, and include non-fiction, poetry and graphic novels. You can find out more about the initiative here.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
