On stage

Year 11, Matteo, is performing in Wetherby Senior’s Upper School play, Bus Stop, at RADA on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th December.

“I joined Wetherby Senior in Year 9 but, due to pandemic restrictions, I have only been able to take part in two previous School productions. This means it is very exciting to be involved in Bus Stop, our Upper School play, which will be at RADA on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th December.

“Ms Twomey, Head of Drama at Wetherby Senior, is doing a great job directing Bus Stop. She has a real vision for how the production should be and is also fantastic at giving advice and guidance to improve your performance. Our rehearsals are going well, although I still need to learn the last of my lines…

“To any younger pupils, thinking of taking part in our Upper School play when in Years 10-13, I would say – do it! It is a great opportunity! As well as improving your public speaking and acting skills, you’ll get to spend time with boys from other years and make new friends. Just the other day, someone in the cast was asking me about my GCSE revision plans, so there is a real camaraderie amongst all involved in the production.

“On opening night at RADA, I’m sure I’ll be a little nervous, but I know it will be a fantastic experience, and my parents will be in the audience, happy to see me perform on such a big stage.

“Tickets for Bus Stop are on sale now, via RADA’s website here!”
