I capture the Year 7 castle

Wetherby Senior’s Year 7 historians fought a hard battle, and ramped up the competition, when challenged to build their own castle.

Before the half-term holiday, our Year 7 cohort were studying at the Norman conquest, looking at how castles were made and defended, and what life was like for those living inside. As part of this work, our School’s History Department held a castle building competition for Year 7, which resulted in some fantastic creations by our youngest pupils.

Mr Smith, from our History Department, said: “Our Year 7 castles were gathered together, with both pupils and staff voting on their favourite fortress. Below is the top choice in this popular vote – congratulations to William!

“Well done to all Year 7 boys who took part. There were some fabulous castles that any brave Norman knight would have been happy to defend.”

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
