Coffee business

Wetherby Senior, plus Godfrey the Gorilla, are raising funds to support school children in Uganda.

Working with the charity, Safi Coffee, this new initiative has been launched by a group of boys in Year 8. They are now working hard to build up their new coffee sales business and raise money, all of which will go towards educating children in Uganda.

Mr Thornton, Head of Charity at Wetherby Senior, explains: “To raise awareness of our new business, we held a naming competition for our gorilla mascot before the half-term holiday. Hundreds of Wetherby Senior pupils voted, with the winning name being Godfrey.

“We will be selling our coffee at future Wetherby Senior events, such as our PTA Quiz Night on Wednesday 7th December. We will also be arranging the sale of Christmas hampers, so get your festive mugs ready!”

More details about the Christmas coffee hampers will be available shortly.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
