Headmaster’s blog 22/04/22

The sun has been shining on Marylebone this week, as pupils and staff returned from what I hope was a relaxing Easter break. I have been hearing great things about our Brass Band and their tour of Jersey over the holiday, so look forward to sharing further news on this next week.

Wetherby Senior has a busy term ahead, which includes our co-curricular programme starting from Monday. (Further information, in our weekly newsletter to parents, details how pupils should sign up for their favourite co-curricular club before the deadline of Monday 25th April). In addition, we have a number of events and trips planned this term, so please take a note of our new calendar and any information you receive from staff that impacts on your son. For example, our Year 10 GCSE History class will visit Kenilworth Castle on Tuesday 3rd May, so boys need to be at Hannah House for an 8am departure on that day.

This term will also see public exams for our Years 11 and 13, enabling our young people to demonstrate their hard work and understanding, before moving on to the next stage of their academic journey or career. For our sixth formers, most will be using these results to secure a university place and I’m delighted to feature Robert in this week’s newsletter, who is another of our current Year 13 holding an offer to study in the USA.

With best wishes for the weekend,

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
