A head for business

Hats off to six member of Wetherby Senior’s Year 12, who are undertaking a Young Enterprise project selling beanie hats.

For the last six months, our sixth formers have worked with peers at Queen’s College, London, making the most of the cold winter weather for their beanie hat selling business. This has been a challenging but rewarding experience, as one of our budding business brains explains: “The first six months weren’t easy, with changing jobs and roles within our business. However, so far, we have made a healthy profit and been able to reinvest that money into more beanies, promotion and even a sideline of customised rings.”

Ms Holmes, who has been supporting our young entrepreneurs, added: “The team has really come together in recent weeks. All their hard work, in and out of meetings, has helped them establish a brand image and improve communication, as they strive to take their business to the next level.”

Young Enterprise is a national charity providing hands-on programmes, resources and training in enterprise and financial education. Since 1962, Young Enterprise has worked with over four million young people.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
