They say a week is a long time in politics and Wetherby Senior pupils have certainly been exploring this concept over the last five days.

Earlier this week, some of our boys travelled from the politics of the Classical world right up to modern times, by attending a fascinating debate between the historian, Mary Beard, and the former politician, Rory Stewart. Our sixth formers have also experienced what it was like being a member of government during World War Two, via a wonderful visit to the nearby Churchill War Rooms. And, finally, all our boys had an opportunity to vote for the Prime Minister of Wetherby Senior, when our School election took place this week. News stories about all of these events are on our website, and I’m delighted that our boys have been able to enthusiastically explore and build their understanding of democracy and politics in such diverse ways.

Our usual lessons and co-curricular activities have continued this week, and Ms Vickers informs me that rehearsals of our Upper School Play are going well. A Christmas Carol Showcase will be on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th December, in our Marylebone Lane Drama Studio, with tickets now available on ParentPay.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has completed Inspired Education’s survey with your experience and thoughts on Wetherby Senior, and a reminder that the survey closes on Monday 27th November.
