Discussing diversity

Wetherby Senior’s pupil-led Diversity Committee have delivered an amazing workshop on the history of pride.

Last week’s workshop – the first to be organised and delivered by our School’s Diversity Committee this academic year – explored the pride movement, which supports visibility, unity and equality amongst the LGBT+ community. At this workshop, Zain S and Carter O spoke about the Stonewall Riots, the evolution of the pride flag, and why pride still matters in 2023.

Ms Nash, Head of Lower School, said: “It was fantastic to see our classroom filled with pupils keen to learn more about the history of pride and, afterwards, everyone agreed that the workshop was hugely informative and interesting.

“It was also lovely to see our Year 11 boys deliver a workshop that they had clearly spent a lot of time researching and preparing. Well done to both Zain and Carter!”

Wetherby Senior’s Diversity Committee are planning a number of events throughout the academic year, which will include another workshop next term. More details will be available soon.
