Work experience wow

Wetherby Senior’s work experience week has seen boys explore exciting and varied career options.

Current Year 11, Faaris, went from an intense few weeks completing his own GCSE exams to enjoying an internship with Brainspark Games, who create educational games and revision apps for children of all ages. As part of his internship, Faaris worked as their social media link/photographer for the day and had the opportunity to see how founders pitched their business at the KPMG Tech Innovators competition.

Brainspark Games (pictured, below, with Faaris) said: “Faaris did an amazing job helping with games ideas and pitching at the KPMG Tech Innovators competition.”

In addition, congratulations must also go to Adam in Year 11. He took the initiative to apply for HSBC’s UK summer work experience programme, making it through a competitive interview round to secure a place! He will now get a taste of being employed in one of HSBC’s retail, commercial, operational or head office areas.

Ms Holmes, Head of Careers at Wetherby Senior, said: “Whether you decide to start an apprenticeship or go to university in the future, work experience provides a valuable and early insight into potential career choices.”
