Headmaster’s blog 26/05/2023

The sun has been out in Marylebone this week and I’m sure I won’t be alone in hoping it stays that way for our coming half-term break.

As we rattle through our Summer Term, university support and guidance continues for our sixth formers. Following a successful personal statement writing workshop with an invited external expert, Mrs Deedat informs me that every member of Year 12 has now given her the first draft of their personal statement, which is a fantastic achievement! A reminder that, after half-term, we have another twilight session (6pm on Tuesday 6th June) for our Year 12 parents and their sons, looking at early entry applications to university.

When we return after half-term, while GCSE and A Level exams continue for Years 11 and 12, it will also be our School exam week for our other cohorts. However, rest assured that the remainder of our Summer Term will not be completely consumed with examinations! Indeed, we have our Lower School play to look forward to at the end of June, with tickets now on sale via ParentPay. Mr Tibbles, who adapted and updated our script, and is also directing, reports that our young actors are working hard on The Government Inspector. ,This will be Wetherby Senior’s first production, since Covid, to also include cast members from nearby girls’ school, Francis Holland, Regent’s Park. For more information, please see our news story and do remember to book your tickets on ParentPay!

Finally, the latest edition of The Barometer is now available online here, so please do enjoy reading this over the half-term holiday.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Marylebone on Monday 5th June.
