That’s the ticket

From today, tickets are on sale for Wetherby Senior’s Lower School play – The Government Inspector.

Adapted from Russian and updated to the twentieth century by our very own Mr Tibbles, next month’s production stars Wetherby Senior pupils in Years 7 to 9 alongside peers from Francis Holland Regent’s Park. Indeed, it will be the first time (since Covid) that a Wetherby Senior play has included pupils from the nearby girls’ school.

Mr Tibbles, from our English and Drama Departments, explains: “The Government Inspector is set in the rural coastal town of Penzance. It satirises government corruption and ineptitude, as a foppish traveller is mistaken for the inspector which sends a government department into disarray.

“Pupils from both schools have been working brilliantly together and I’m very impressed with how our young cast have been getting their teeth into the comedic elements of our production. We are currently rehearsing twice a week, with a full technical rehearsal planned for the weekend before our first performance.”

The Government Inspector will be at 7pm on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th June, in our School’s Marylebone Lane Drama Studio. Tickets are now available on ParentPay.
