Careers and Canapes

Wetherby Senior’s first Careers and Canapes event enabled Year 11 parents to hear more about their son’s future journey into the world of work.

With Year 11 set to complete work experience this summer, our Careers and Canapes evening outlined our School’s work experience and work placement process. It also offered parents a preview of the variety of professional development opportunities which await boys in Year 12.

Ms Holmes, Wetherby Senior’s Head of Careers, was ably supported by a group of current Year 12 boys. She explained: “Our sixth formers were fantastic at talking to Year 11 parents about their own work placement last summer, outlining all the skills they built through this experience, and explaining how they are now developing these further in our Sixth Form.

“It was a fun and informative evening, and I was delighted to speak with so many Year 11 parents.”

Wetherby Senior’s next Careers Programme event is for Year 10 parents on Thursday 2nd February, Starting at 6pm, An Introduction to the Competitive Advantage Programme will outline professional development for pupils from Year 10 onwards, and email invites have been sent to parents.
