California studying

Nicolas has an offer to study at University of California, Berkeley. He lives in South Kensington and is studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths within Wetherby Senior’s Sixth Form.

“I have really loved my time at Wetherby Senior. Academically, I have enjoyed my A Level subjects and not regretted choosing any of them, even when I had a lot of homework! Socially, I have always enjoyed our School’s inter-Trib competitions, particularly if it involves an afternoon of sport. In addition, taking part in drama productions has always been fun, as it is exciting to see your hard work come together on stage.

“I remain very grateful to the staff at Wetherby Senior who have really encouraged my university ambitions. When I was applying through UCAS for universities in the UK, Ms Zaman provided me with very useful guidance on writing my personal statement. As I was also applying to universities in the USA, our US Advisors also offered me support with my applications, with weekly meetings and lessons.

“I am really looking forward to starting my course at University of California, Berkeley, as I know it will be a fantastic opportunity for me to study and live in the United States.”

The University of California, Berkeley is ranked among the world’s top universities. Alumni, faculty and staff include 114 Nobel laureates, 25 Turing Award winners, 14 Fields Medalists, 30 Pulitzer Prize recipients, 19 Academy Award winners, five foreign heads of state, chief justices of the United States and California, and the founders or co-founders of many world-renowned companies, including Apple, Tesla, Intel, eBay, and Morgan Stanley.

Wetherby Senior’s current Year 13 presently hold over 120 offers, across 35 subjects, at universities around the UK and in North America, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. We’ve been interviewing many of our successful sixth formers to acknowledge their hard work and commitment, and to further inspire to our younger pupils.
