ISA Whitbread Prize success

Wetherby Senior’s Head Boy has received the prestigious ISA Whitbread Prize at a ceremony at the House of Lords, following a two-year delay due to the pandemic.

The Independent Schools Association (ISA) awarded current sixth former, Maxime, with this highly esteemed honour in recognition of his involvement in, and service to, our School’s community, as well as his excellent GCSE results.

Now in Year 13, Maxime was awarded the prestigious honour back in 2020. However, the annual awards ceremony at the House of Lords was then postponed, due to lockdown, meaning he finally got to attend in person last month.

Maxime was accompanied by members of his family and our Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Deedat, who said: “Maxime joined Wetherby Senior in Year 7, as part of our first cohort, and has consistently proved himself to be an outstanding citizen. As well as achieving top grades, he has made outstanding contributions to all other aspects of our School’s life, including sport, music and drama.

“Maxime has been an excellent example to all our pupils and, as Head Boy, has continued to exemplify our School values and be a wonderful ambassador when meeting prospective parents. I am delighted that his hard work and fantastic achievements have been recognised by the ISA Whitbread Prize.”

Nominated alongside Maxime in 2020, and on the Whitbread roll of honour, was Wetherby Senior’s current Deputy Head Boy, Henry.

The ISA Whitbread Prize is the top award for the 500+ schools which belong to the ISA. It recognises outstanding academic achievement, contribution to school life and service in the wider community, with nominations from around 5,000 pupils across the UK.
