Wetherby Senior’s Years 7 and 8 recently swung into our Drama Studio, to enjoy a film screening by our School’s pupil-led Diversity Committee.
Taking place just before the half-term holiday, this event began with Daniel A, from Year 11, speaking to pupils about why Spider Man-Into the Spider-Verse had been chosen by our Diversity Committee.
Ms Nash, Head of Lower School at Wetherby Senior, said: “It was fantastic to have Daniel talk to our youngest pupils before the screening and explain the film choice. Daniel highlighted how Spider Man-Into the Spider-Verse features an array of characters from diverse cultures and ethnicities, and he emphasised the importance of having people from a range of backgrounds represented on the big screen.
“Our Years 7 and 8 certainly enjoyed themselves as they tucked into their snacks and watched the main character, Miles Morales, develop his Spider-Man skills.”
Wetherby Senior’s Diversity Committee are now planning a number of events to take place throughout the academic year, including a competition currently open to all pupils to enter. Details can be found on Teams.
