Class of 23 – Elias

Year 13, Elias, has been accepted by a number of top US colleges, including the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame, Michigan, and Dartmouth, to read business.

“I joined Wetherby Senior in Year 9, having previously attended four international schools in four different countries, due to my parents’ jobs. I suddenly found myself in Marylebone, in a nurturing environment where I was treated as an individual and properly supported, meaning I could realise my potential – academically and athletically. Thanks in part to this, I am now one of our School’s Deputy Head Boy, I have been captain of Wetherby Senior’s 1st rugby team, and I hold offers to study at world-leading US universities.

“Before applying to study in North America, I didn’t know a lot about the US admissions system and I’m very grateful for the support and guidance provided by Wetherby Senior staff. Our US Advisor met with me weekly, which was invaluable when I was writing 30+ application essays in time for early application deadline! As well as offering her expertise and knowledge, she also put me in touch with a US scholarship consultancy, based in the UK, who help talented athletes to study in the USA, since I am applying for a sports scholarship.

“There is a really strong sense of community at Wetherby Senior, everyone gets to know each other, and you develop deep connections with your peers and with teachers. Of course, sport has been a big part of my time at Wetherby Senior – Mr Fuller, our Director of Sport, has been a fantastic mentor to me over the last five years, and I’m so proud to represent our School on the rugby pitch. Wetherby Senior’s Sport Department is brilliant at giving you the time and opportunity to build your fitness, confidence, and enjoyment of a sport that you love.”
