Wetherby Senior pupils are being asked, “Who is the masked reader?”, as part of a fun World Book Day competition.
Initiated by Wetherby Senior’s librarian, Mr Munday, members of staff from across our School have been photographed hiding books. Now our pupils need to guess who these masked readers are, with the most successful boy wining a prize!
Mr Munday explains: “Photographs of our masked readers will be shown during tutor time on Thursday, which is World Book Day. These images will also be on display in our library, and pupils should send me their answers by email or via Teams.”
“Our picture, below, shows some of the staff who weren’t worried about losing face and masked up to take part in our competition!”
Taking place annually, World Book Day aims to promote reading for pleasure and Wetherby Senior celebrates this event each year with a number of activities. Earlier this week, Years 7 and 8 heard from published author, Michael Mann, about his inspirations and writing process, and Michael is now judging our School’s creative writing competition.
