Lucky for Marty

There was no unlucky thirteen for Wetherby Senior pupil, Marty, with his most recent swimming success meaning he took home over a dozen medals – 12 gold and 1 bronze.

Swimming for his club, Camden Swiss Cottage, at the county championship for the season, Marty qualified to race in 14 disciplines. As well as winning a gold medal in 12 of these events, and bronze in 1, the Year 8 pupil has now qualified for all 14 disciplines for the regional championship. This competition is set to take place after Easter, during the qualifying window for the national championship this summer.

Mr Fuller, Director of Sport at Wetherby Senior, said: “This is a truly outstanding set of results – well done Marty!”

In just two weeks’ time, Marty will be swimming at the National Arena League B Final in Cardiff. All at Wetherby Senior wish him the very best of luck.
