Art in the park

Wetherby Senior’s Year 10 artists have enjoyed visiting a much-celebrated public art exhibition in London – Frieze Sculpture.

Heading to nearby Regent’s Park, our GCSE Art and Design pupils went to see Frieze Sculpture, which features 19 large-scale works, by artists including John Giorno, Ro Robertson and Ugo Rondinone, throughout the park.

Mrs Bradley, Wetherby Senior’s Director of Art and Graphic Design, accompanied our pupils. She said: “As a class, we particularly wanted to see the sculptures that were inspired by natural forms, as this relates to the project that our boys are about to undertake. After the half-term holiday, they will be designing their own natural form inspired sculptures.”

Frieze Sculpture 2022 is curated by Clare Lilley (Yorkshire Sculpture Park Director) and runs until 13th November. This major public art exhibition is free, taking place alongside Frieze London and Frieze Masters, to bring together the world’s leading galleries in London.
