A bug’s life

Wetherby Senior’s Year 8 have been bitten by the science bug.

Our young biologists have been working in groups to educate themselves, and others, learning more about insects. As well as building their scientific knowledge about creepy crawlies, pupils have been expressing their creative side by making documentaries and models following their research.

Mrs Zaman explains: “All our boys worked very hard on this topic but I was particularly impressed by Barnaby, Graydon, Ale and Antonio. Together they made a model, which they named Bob, and they presented him to our Headmaster this week. They also created a wonderful documentary about ants, demonstrating excellent teamwork as they co-ordinated and completed their project.

“Dr Westphal, one of our School’s science technicians, viewed their documentary and praised the very high standard of it. Her approval, as an entomologist, shows just how impressive their work has been.”

Well done to our Year 8 biologists for being such busy bees.
