Sports Day success

Wetherby Senior enjoyed a sunny and successful Sports Day on Monday, with pupils setting a number of new School records.

Making use of state-of-the-art facilities at Perivale Park Athletics Track, our packed Sports Day schedule saw track and field events take place, with boys competing in Trib teams. Prizes were presented at the end of the day.

Mr Fuller, from our PE Department, said: “This was a fantastic Sports Day, with great individual and team performances by our boys, as they ably demonstrated team work, determination and a healthy competitive spirit!

“I’d like to thank School staff, for their help and support towards our Sports Day, and our parent spectators, who also provided much welcomed refreshments. This was our first Sports Day with spectators in three years, so it was wonderful to see our Wetherby Senior community join together for a terrific day of sport.”

Congratulations to our Wetherby Senior sports stars for setting a number of new School records, including:
– Within Year 7, we have a new School record for 1500m, with Luke racing in at 5 minutes and 30 seconds, and a new high jump record of 1.37m by Konstantin.
– Within Year 8, Ihsan had a successful day, creating a new School record for 400m (with 1 minute and 1 second), for 200m (24.56 second), and for long jump (with 4.61m). We also have a new School record for high jump (1.45m by Alexandre) and for shot putt (9.03m by Flynn).
– Within Year 10, we have a new School record for high jump (1.75m by Zachary) and for triple jump, (11.42m by Mark).
