Sound of summer

Wetherby Senior’s Summer Concert saw strong performances by our music ensembles and Choir with pieces ranging from classical music to pop, rock and film classics.

Our School’s well-attended Summer Concert featured our music ensembles in cello, guitar and strings, plus our brass band and our Choir. Boys showcased their hardwork and talent with pieces by English composer Henry Purcell and by American songwriter Carson Parks, plus music from films like The Lion King, Rocky, The Godfather and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Mr Martin, Director of Music, said: “This was an excellent musical end to a busy academic year. Well done to all our performers for such a fantastic concert.”

Mr Silvester, Headmaster, added: “Congratulations to all our young musicians and our Music Department on providing such a super evening of music.”

Wetherby Senior’s Summer Concert follows two terms of regular performance opportunities for our Music Department, following the easing of pandemic restrictions. For our young musicians, this has included recitals in our Spring and Summer Terms, plus a Brass Band tour of Jersey during the Easter holidays.
