Headmaster’s blog 1/04/22

And so, we reach the end of a term packed with university ambition, excellence in drama and music, some terrific trips and sports fixtures, and Wetherby Senior School’s Sponsored Spin, our most successful charitable event to date! Our Spring Term 2022 review outlines these and other highlights, reminding us of the wonderful aspects of Wetherby Senior life that we have enjoyed in the last three months.

While we’ll share a longer news story after the holiday, I wanted to announce the results from Trib Drama last night. Well done to all involved and especially to Fleet’s Paul C (Best Director), Walbrook’s Ramzi K (Funniest Actor), and Fleet’s Oscar F (Judge’s Choice). For overall performance, we had Ravensbourne in third place, Fleet in second, and Tyburn in first.

Congratulations to those involved Brass Bash this week – like our Trib Drama production, this saw fantastic performances from all years and provided brilliant showcase for the talent, dedication and hard work of our young people. Inter-Trib rugby and football matches have also taken place, providing a fun and healthy opportunity for our boys to challenge each other and represent their Trib with pride, so well done to all our sports stars too.

Our new edition of The Barometer (available here) ensures plenty of reading material for Easter – great work by all pupils involved in creating another excellent publication. If you are looking for further reading during the holiday, then you may enjoy this Independent School Parent article on how Wetherby Senior supports US university applications. In case you wish to hear further from me over the break, then I have an interview on page 26 of the latest issue of Education Choices magazine, and an accompanying podcast.

A reminder that pupils are expected back on Wednesday 20th April.

With best wishes for the Easter holiday.
