Anti-bullying ambassadors

Wetherby Senior pupils have been taking part in inspiring and impactful anti-bullying training with a renowned national organisation.

Earlier this week, our School’s community, anti-bullying and diversity ambassadors travelled to Essex to complete anti-bullying training with the Diana Award. This charity’s Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme helps equip young people and school staff with the tools to tackle bullying behaviour head on.

Year 11 pupil, Daniel, took part in this week’s training. He explains: “Our group of Wetherby Senior ambassadors learned how to spot the different types of bullying, how to respond and how to create a more positive school environment for everyone. To mark our attendance, we all received badges, which we now wear on our blazers.

“We would like Wetherby Senior pupils to feel free to find us, either in the corridor or on Microsoft Teams, and let us know if they need anything. In the coming weeks, we will also be arranging some anti-bullying events, so watch this space!”

The Diana Award is a charity set up in memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world.
