In for the long run

Over 40,000 people are set to take part in this Sunday’s London Marathon, including Wetherby Senior’s IT Operations Engineer.

Despite only taking up running early last year, Mr Kabaria is aiming to complete the 26.2 mile course in under five hours. In addition, like many of those running this weekend, he is raising funds for a very deserving cause – Asthma and Lung UK.

Mr Kabaria, IT Operations Engineer at Wetherby Senior, said: “Last year, I saw my best friend complete the London Marathon carrying an oxygen tank. Seeing his passion to run a marathon, while suffering from a lifelong illness (interstitial lung disease or ILD), has inspired me to take on the London Marathon 2023 and to support a charity that is very important to him.

Mr Kabaria and his friend are pictured, below, at last year’s marathon. At that time, Mr Kabaria was part of his friend’s oxygen support team, so helped with swopping out his oxygen tanks while running the London Marathon route.

All at Wetherby Senior wish Mr Kabaria the best of luck for Sunday’s marathon and donations towards Asthma and Lung UK can be made via his JustGiving page here.
