Headmaster’s blog 7/10/22

I would like to begin on a positive note, by thanking everyone for their support at last Saturday’s Open Day. It was a terrific team effort, with visitors full of praise for our pupils, staff, and PTA members.

Indeed, as I look through responses to our feedback survey, so far, I find a number of key words jump out. These have been used by multiple prospective parents when describing interactions with our boys – “kind and friendly”, “polite and well-mannered”, and “helpful”. It is extremely gratifying to see these values, which we hold dear as a school, exhibited by our boys, and all should feel proud of the way they conducted themselves last Saturday.

Our current pupils were kept busy at our Open Day, working as tour guides, supporting their departments, and providing musical entertainment for visitors. If you haven’t already, then please head to our Instagram page to enjoy a short video of Benito, in Year 7, wowing all with his piano playing. At the time of producing this newsletter, his video had been viewed over 500 times and I’m sure you will all join me in saying well done to him!

Looking ahead and there is plenty happening in Marylebone next week, with Year 11 parents’ evenings (Tuesday and Thursday), our autumn recital (Wednesday), and our first issue of The Barometer for this academic year. Of course, we also have our usual lessons, co-curricular activities, and sports fixtures, so I am sure we will all be ready for our half-term holiday, starting from Monday 17th October.
