Wetherby Senior pupils assembled for a super talk last week, when author Jason Rohan visited our part of the galaxy.
Pupils in Years 7 to 9 were excited to hear about Jason’s writing career, which began when he joined Marvel Comics in New York as a staff writer, aged 16. Now living in London, he has since published his trilogy, the Kuomori series, and is now launching his first book in a brand new series.
Mr Munday, our School Librarian, explains: “Jason told us about his journey from a bored suburban superhero fan to working at Marvel Comics when he was only 16! Our boys loved hearing about his work, and were inspired to see how he had become a published author, despite being busy with a full-time job and his five children.
“Jason also tested our pupils on their codebreaking skills with some lateral thinking puzzles, before signing copies of his latest book, S.T.E.A.L.T.H.: Access Denied, for many of our boys.”
Year 7 pupil, Felipe, greatly enjoyed the talk. He said: “Jason had lots of amazing ideas, gave us a thorough commentary on his work, and promoted out-of-the-box thinking about writing, which was fantastic.”
