As we reach the halfway point of our Summer Term, the Platinum Jubilee decorations are up in Oxford St and around Marylebone, providing some colour through the breaks in rain this week. At Hannah House, exams are well underway, and I’ve received very positive reports about the behaviour and conduct of our boys at this time. I hope all in current exam years will use the forthcoming half-term break productively, so they can continue to give their best in the remainder of their exams.

Last night, Wetherby Senior hosted a fascinating talk on applying to Canadian universities for pupils in Years 10 to 12 and their parents, which I am sure all found helpful. This is just a small part of the support that we offer to our boys regarding higher education ambitions, with further events planned before the summer holiday. In addition, I am delighted to feature one of current Year 13, Maxime, discussing his plans to study at Edinburgh, in this week’s newsletter.

Today sees the publication of a new issue of The Barometer, available online here. Many of this edition’s articles talk about our recent Field Day, so I hope you enjoy reading about a literary tour of Hampstead, a hike across the Chiltern Hills for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and more. All are great examples of how our inspiring Field Day programme can take the learning and experiences of our young people beyond the classroom, in a fun and engaging manner.

Finally, boys are expected back at Marylebone on Monday 6th June. Whilst it seems a long way off, I am sorry to have to remind you that there is a planned network-wide tube strike on that day. We will be open as usual, and exams will be taking place, so please help your son plan ahead, so he is able to be here on time as usual.

With best wishes for the half-term.
