Rocking out Hannah House

From the Beatles to Bowie, and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Rage Against the Machine, it was a rock and pop extravaganza at last week’s Live Lounge.

Featuring performances by 30 Wetherby Senior musicians, our concert included guitar, piano and drum solos, plus music from our Year 7, Year 8, and Years 9 and 10 Rock School bands.

Mr Martin, Director of Music, said: “Live Lounge was a chance for our rock and pop musicians to take centre stage and our boys really grabbed this opportunity, like any future rock star would!

“We began with our soloists who all played really well, especially Arun, Freddie and Pascha. I’d also like to highlight Aarav, whose version of Rage Against the Machine’s Wake Up was a real treat. We then moved onto our bands who were all superb, giving excellent performances of some rock classics.”

An hour-long show, Live Lounge was very well attended, with standing room only for the highly appreciative audience.

Mr Martin added: “I would like to thank Mr McKean for his expertise in all things rock and pop – he is a true inspiration to all our boys.

“Once again, our Music Department has shown how much amazing musical talent there is at Wetherby Senior School.”
