Solo summer sounds

One by one, Wetherby Senior’s talented musicians provided an evening of fantastic entertainment at our Summer Solo Recital on Monday.

Taking place at Hannah House, our concert included strong solo performances in piano and string, with pupils performing challenging Grade V, VI and VII pieces

Mr Martin, Director of Music, was full of praise for all our musicians. He said: “We had a collection of great performances from our pianists, with Li flawlessly playing a post-Grade VII Chopin piece – bravo! Other boys were undertaking Grade V, VI and VI works, all of which were very demanding, yet our boys really stepped up and performed brilliantly!

“Our string players also put on a magnificent show, with performances of substantial Grade VI and V exam pieces, despite many of our boys still being in Years 7 and 8.”

Mr Martin added: “Our young musicians really showed our audience what talent, hard work and dedication can achieve. Well done to all!”

Wetherby Senior has more musical performances this term, with Live Lounge taking place on Thursday 19th May and our Summer Concert on Wednesday 22nd June.
