Lead from the front

Applications to become a Wetherby Senior School prefect are now open.

Our current Year 12 have until Friday 25 February to apply for a prefect role, which will mean they further support the life of our School, taking part in activities like meeting with prospective pupils and parents at open events, facilitating Trib activities, and monitoring the lunch queue.

Being a prefect not only helps our School community but has important benefits for our sixth formers too. As well as building vital transferable skills such as public speaking, confidence and time management, it looks good on future UCAS and job applications, and provides a valuable experience of leadership and responsibility.

Sixth formers wishing to apply to be a prefect can download the job description from Firefly or email Miss Mendes, our Assistant Head of Sixth Form, for a copy. You will then need to write your application letter to Mr Silvester, which should be handed or emailed to his PA by Friday 25th February.

Your prefect application letter can be up to 600 words and should explain why you would like to be a prefect, what you could bring to the role, and why you are a good candidate who upholds Wetherby Senior’s values.

In addition, you will need to ask someone within the Wetherby Senior community (such as a subject teacher, form teacher or another pupil) to write a testimonial for you. This can be up to 300 words and should explain why that person thinks you would make a great prefect.

For further information about our prefect application process, please speak to Miss Mendes from our Sixth Form team.
