Art & Design plays a large part in the curriculum at Wetherby Senior School. Taught by specialist teachers, both departments have state of the art facilities. The Design & Technology suite offers two bandsaws; two sand belts; two floor standing power drills and eight 32” MacBooks.
The art room proudly boasts 56 A3 screens; two printing presses and a fabulous kiln to fire the boys ceramic pieces.
teaching and learning
Wetherby Senior School aims to provide all boys with the means to express themselves creatively through a wide variety of media. They are given the opportunity to discover Art & Design by investigating, experimenting and gaining confidence. Their work is displayed throughout the school in the four designated galleries, annual exhibitions and work sent off to external competitions.
Excitingly, Year 9 will go to New York during the Spring Half-Term to experience the many galleries and other such cultural attractions.
A day trip to both the Design Museum and the Henry Moore Foundation is also planned for the Spring and Summer Terms, respectively.
