community service

Community Service is a popular option for all Year 10 and 11 boys and takes place on Wednesday afternoons.

This year boys have assisted at St Mary’s Bryanston Square Primary School where they have lead activities in After School Club and tutored children in Maths and English. Boys worked with the West London Day Centre to provide Christmas boxes packed winter essential for the homeless.

Wetherby Senior’s Community Service programme aims to ensure that the school plays an active part in the life of the community whilst giving boys the opportunity to learn new skills, meet people outside their usual circles and develop confidence. The programme is founded on the principal of reciprocity as we recognise that our boys have a lot to offer but also gain invaluable life skills from participation.

Community Service aims for boys to:

  • make a difference to the lives of others
  • have a range of activities
  • develop key life skills and experiences that may even impress university admission tutors
  • be involved in the world outside school
