At Wetherby Senior we recognise that important personal development takes place beyond the classroom and the standard curriculum. We not only have philosophy embedded in the curriculum from Years 7-11 to develop pupils’ critical and independent thinking but also have a wide range of clubs and societies. In fact, the school prides itself on offering over 70 activities.
In the Sixth Form there are societies focused on progression opportunities e.g. Future Medics Society and in addition to the A Level Lecture programme there are the A Level enrichment lectures delivered by academic staff on topics such as the philosophy of science, the literary ‘canon’ and The American New Deal.
By helping our boys to develop self-awareness and self-challenge, we inspire them to be the very best they can be in all aspects of their academic and cultural life at the School.
Each of our departments run a variety of optional academic and co-curricular trips for the boys. In addition, the PSHE programme and many subjects invite guest speakers to give talks and presentations on a wide variety of subjects.
